A Chrome extension with no use at all

Roll up any website.

Gobble lifts the page you're on into a tiny 3D world and hands you a sticky ball. Roll over the words and they stick. Grow. Then eat the buttons, the pictures, the cookie banner, the logo, and finally the page itself.

Eat the cookie banner

Cookie walls, newsletter pop-ups and chat bubbles are bosses. Get big enough and they're gone, in slow motion.

Eat the logo

Every site's logo floats on a gold stand. It's the prize of the level: eat it for five more seconds.

Every tab is a level

Make the goal and your ball rolls into your next tab, bigger. Every tab asks for more in less time.

How it plays

  1. 1Click the buttonOn any page, click Gobble in the toolbar (or press Alt+Shift+G). The page lifts off the screen into a little world.
  2. 2RollSteer with the mouse, and hold the button to dash. Whatever wobbles as you come near is small enough to eat: words first, then buttons, pictures and whole panels.
  3. 3Make the goalEach tab has a clock and a goal size. Keep eating without a break for a combo and extra seconds. Eat the whole page and beat your time on that site.
  4. 4Roll onYour ball rolls into the next tab, bigger. How many tabs can you eat?
  • 6 cm a word
  • 20 cm a button
  • 50 cm a picture
  • 90 cm the cookie banner
  • 1 m+ the page

Every tab is a clip

Gobble records each tab while you play: the page lifting off, the eating sped up, the slow motion when the logo goes, and your ball at the end. Press Save clip for a video with sound.

Or Save 9:16: the same clip upright, following your ball, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Nothing is uploaded anywhere. The videos are made on your computer.

Free, for Chrome (and Edge, Brave and Arc) on Mac, Windows, Linux and ChromeOS. It only touches the tab you click it on.

Add to Chrome

Gobble needs Chrome on a computer. Send yourself the link for later.

Install it by hand
  1. Download gobble.zip and unzip it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top right).
  3. Click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder.
  4. Pin Gobble to the toolbar and click it on any page.

Does it change the website?

No. Gobble rolls up a picture of the page. Press Esc and the real page is right where you left it.

What can it see?

Only the tab you click it on, when you click it. The first time you roll into another tab, Chrome asks you to allow that. It never rolls into mail, banking, sign-in or pinned tabs, and you can skip any tab with N.

Does it collect anything?

No accounts, no analytics, no servers. Your best size and your record on each site stay in your browser.

What is it for?

Nothing. It's fun, and that's the whole point.
